Please allow me to introduce to you the project I am working on, for which I am actively looking for Japanese musicians and performers. I’d be very grateful for any help you can give.

End of April/beginning May 2012 I’ll be producing ‘Landscape [pieces]’ in Itoshima (near Fukuoka). For this project, we will install in an intervention-like style a number of performance-based works for acoustical instruments, speech and spatialization at secluded sites in the natural landscape of Itoshima. For example, pieces are performed with the performers spread out across a number of rice terraces, a bamboo forrest and in a bay during the upcoming tide. The works that will be performed are ‘open score’ instrumental pieces, exploring notions of structural composition, spatiality and time progression.
2012年4月の終わりから5月の終わりにかけて、私は糸島市で（福岡近辺）”ランドスケープピース”をプロデュースします。

実行される作品は、構造組成、空間性と時間の進行の概念を探求する、”オープンスコア”のインストゥルメンタル曲です。

The performances are done without an audience, but will be filmed/recorded and edited into a multichannel video work for later exhibition. For recording, we will use a number of experimental techniques, in order to be able to create a layering of material in the later video work.

Now, I am searching for musicians and performers to work with me on this project. Strongly preferable, they have experience with interpreting and performing modern/contemporary music and sound art works, either composition- or improvisation-based.

Specifically, I am looking for;

– a group of 7 – 9 sustaining instruments (strings, woodwinds, brass, mobile keyboards, or possible bowed percussion instruments)
– 互いに影響しあう演奏のための楽器演奏者（弦楽器、木管楽器、金管楽器、モバイルキーボード、パーカッションの打楽器） 7-9人
– 4 Sho (Japanese mouth organ)
– 笙の演奏者 ４人
– 4 Trombones (or 4 other identical and mobile instruments)
– トロンボーン（またはその他4つの同一の楽器）演奏者 4人
– 7 Voices (preferably no trained singers but musicians/performance artists who are comfortable using their voice for performance)
– 人声演奏者 7人（できれば声楽の勉強をしていない人で、でも作品のために声を使用することに経験のあるミュージシャン、
もしくはパフォーマンスアーティスト）
There will be 1 week of rehearsals (with 3 rehearsals for each pieces) and 1-2 filming day(s) on location for each piece. Rounding up the project, there will a public performance of 1 or 2 pieces, held at the residency place that is producing the project (Studio Kura, http://www.studiokura.info/en/)
それぞれのグループにつき、リハーサルは1週間（各作品につき3回のリハーサル）と撮影日1-2日間です。
プロジェクトについては、1,2グループがパブリックで演奏され、またプロジェクトをプロデュースしているスタジオ・クラでも開催されます

I’ll be working in residence from half March to half May 2012. Intended is to start rehearsing half April to do the performances/film-shoots no later than the first week of May 2012. A definite schedule will have to be compiled will all participants.

There is a budget available to pay all participants a fee for their work, and all their expensens during the period of rehearsals/filming. There is also some budget to cover transport from other areas than Fukuoka, in case this is necessary. So musicians living in Tokyo, or in the south of Japan, I could propose to them to come to Fukuoka and pay for their expenses.
